1 – Can you start by telling us a little about your current book?
The sound mirror was out in 2020 and is about three generations of women and the echoes of the past sounding in the present.
2 – Are you a plotter or a panster?
A bit of both.. need some plot ideas as a guide, but am happy to throw it out if I need to!
3 – Savoury or sweet?
Both... but if I had to choose, savoury! With alcohol!
4 – Three books to a desert Island. Go!
Oh my... I have no idea. How do people answer this? I don’t have any favourite books that immediately spring to mind either. Maybe one on survival/field craft?
5 – Star Wars or Star Trek?
Hmmmmm these are tough. Probably Star Wars - it has many special family associations and childhood memories.
6 – If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
Invisibility.... or more prosaically, no self-doubt!!
7 – Music or Silence when writing?
Silence!! I’m not a ‘cafe-writer’.
8 – If you could live anywhere in the world, and take everything that you love with you, where would you choose?
Somewhere warm and sunny, by the sea... a small cove, lots of trees and wildlife. No close neighbours - tranquil and easy. I don’t do well in our winters.
9 - Your favourite karaoke song?
I don’t/won’t/can’t do karaoke.
10 – One piece of advice to an aspiring writer?
Write!! And read everything you can.
11 – You win £1 million, but you must give half to charity. Which charity do you chose, and what do you do with the rest of the money?
I have no idea.. this could go on forever, trying to evaluate which charity would best use the money etc. I would equivocate forever. And if I had half a million to spend - it would be on helping my loved ones and paying off debt!
12 – Horror films, yes or no? If so, any favourites?
Not really - I’m a bit of a scaredy-cat
13 - What are you currently working on?
An eco-folk horror... it’s a challenge at the moment, I’m in awe of people that are managing to write and create during this lockdown..
